THE THEMES
FROM THE YEAR OF ITALY-CHINA TOURISM TO THE WINTER OLYMPICS: OPPORTUNITIES ALONG THE WAY OF SILK
Italy is about to experience a series of fundamental challenges with high potential in the context of initiatives aimed at welcoming Chinese tourists: 2020 will be the Year of culture and tourism between Italy and China; Beijing and Milan will pass the baton of the Winter Olympic Games between 2022 and 2026. In 2018, according to the data processed by our Study Center, the number of outbound Chinese travelers grew by 13% compared to the previous year, reaching the figure of 162 million people.
The Permanent Training School is designing, together with leading players in the Italian tourist hospitality sector, projects aimed at strengthening the attractive and receptive performances of our country, especially in view of these important events. The School is a partner of SEA Aeroporti di Milano, ADR Aeroporti di Roma, ADP Aeroporti di Puglia for the adaptation of airports in a "Chinese friendly" perspective, Roma Capitale and WHERE Milan for training in the hotel sector, Airchina and Lüfthansa for the sector aviation and numerous fashion and design brands. The Italy-China Foundation intends to bring to the attention of economic operators and institutions a road map of good practices and projects yet to be drawn both in the Italian capital and in its "economic capital", Milan, to share proactivity and enthusiasm towards the opportunity of the Chinese challenge.
The work of the Open Day will therefore focus on orientation towards business opportunities in the tourism sector and on sharing the state of the art of relations between Italy and China in this strategic area. As in previous years, representatives of institutions and managers of Italian and Chinese companies will participate, sharing analysis of future trends and strategies to intercept and govern them with the audience.
