WORKING GROUPS: coordinators and latest news

The Working Groups of the Italy-China Foundation and the Italian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce have restarted!

The aim of the thematic groups is to share ideas, projects, problems and know-how through periodic meetings to improve bilateral collaboration, providing at the same time steering documents and contributions at the level of the Country System for the development of Italy-China relations, also with elaboration of ad hoc proposals for the institutions.

The Foundation and the Chamber firmly believe in the value of sharing strategies and business experience, which is an essential element to increase awareness of how to face the challenge of the Chinese market and prepare correctly for bilateral economic and industrial relations between Italy and China. The international economic context continues to renew and evolve over time, especially in the light of recent events and the confrontation in the future that requires preparation and suitable tools to be able to better grasp the opportunities that arise.

For information and membership of the working groups, please contact: Francesca Bonati (Italy China Foundation | bonati@italychina.org) and Donatella Fu Lu (Italian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce | fu@china-italy.com).

Environment
The issues of energy transition, decarbonisation and environmental protection will be at the center of European (Green Deal) and Chinese policies. Europe is committed to achieving carbon neutrality in 2050, while China in 2060, with CO2 emissions peaking by 2030. Europe and China have a historic responsibility to lead the decarbonisation of the world economy, representing over 50% of world GDP, over 55% of fossil fuel consumption, over 50% of GHG emissions.
The objectives set by Europe and China require the adoption of totally new models of development and economic growth (e.g. Circular Economy), with holistic approaches capable of addressing systemic changes in an integrated, harmonious, effective and efficient way.
The challenges to be faced will be technological, but also and above all systemic and will involve changes in perspectives, technological shifts, changes in consumption models, new industrial models, the integration of traditional technologies with new pressures to digitization (AI, IoT, Big Data, 5G, etc.).

The Working Group dedicated to Energy and the Environment is coordinated by:
Paola Bernardi | Partner, Bernardi Law Firm
Davide Roncaglioni | In3act, CEO

The purpose of the Energy and Environment WG is to offer a discussion table on specific contingent problems and difficulties in this sector, in addition to the intention to share best practices and information, present opportunities and projects: it is therefore a moment of proactive discussion for the which we require serious participation and sharing of experiences, ideas, proposals in this regard.

The first meeting of the digital working group was held on 17 March at 9.30.
